Dave founded Heartland Harps in 1984 in Wisconsin, and later moved the business to the mountains of North Carolina. He started out building wood harps, and in 2008 transitioned to all carbon fiber harps. To date, Heartland has built more than 1,000 carbon fiber harps. In order to supply the needs of Heartland and the growing demand in the carbon fiber industry, he decided to open ACT. Dave will eventually transition from day-to-day operations to a primary focus on Research and Development. He resides near Hendersonville, NC with his wife Pamela and black lab, Guinness. Dave’s hobbies include sailing, hiking, reading, exploring, and (of course) technology and innovation.
